EDELA AWARD 2023 DEDICATED TO MAURIZIO COSTANZO WITH DISTINGUISHED GUESTS FROM THE WORLD OF SPORTS, CULTURE, ART, AND ENTERTAINMENT
Oddera, Gravina, Fadlun surprised, welcomed by a standing ovation
This morning in the Hall of Honor at CONI, the Edela Association, which supports the orphans of femicide, presented awards to prestigious names from the worlds of art, sport, culture, and entertainment.
“Our small, silent, and dismayed army needs a voice. I immediately understood that my voice alone would not be enough. I called upon well-known and influential friends who, together with me, have adopted these children orphaned not only of their mothers but also of trust.” Thus said President Roberta Beolchi in launching this special edition dedicated to Maurizio Costanzo.
The event was hosted by a passionate Paola Saluzzi, and institutional greetings were given to the host Giovanni Malagò and to Carla Garlati – childhood and adolescence ombudsman.
Many were awarded this year, starting with Camilla Costanzo, daughter of the late journalist, accompanied by longtime friend Giorgio Assumma, lawyer to the Italian artistic jet set.
The writer Dacia Maraini kicked off a crowded and well-attended awards ceremony. Gabriele Gravina, President of FIGC, received great applause from the audience, as did Alberto Oliveti, president of ENPAM, with his insightful speech, and Federica Cappelletti Rossi, President of Women's Serie A Football and widow of the late Paolo Rossi.
The presence of Simona Paravani Mellinghoff, Chief Investment Officer at BlackRock and an Italian star in international finance who has always advocated for financial education for young people, was surprising. Also present were Luisa Regimenti, President of the National Association of Forensic Doctors and Regional Councillor for Lazio; Cristina Costarelli, President of ANP Lazio; Elisabetta Aldrovandi, President of the National Observatory for Victim Support; Marco Manicastri, President of Mondo Riabilitazione.
Many well-known faces were awarded for their commitment to young people through their work, such as Francesco Giorgino, journalist and university professor now engaged in Rai 1's late-night show Ventunesimo Secolo; and also, Alba Parietti, Rita dalla Chiesa, Emma d’Aquino, Vittoriana Abate, longtime correspondent for PortaaPorta, actor Giorgio Pasotti who joined remotely, and painter Fabrizio Di Nardo.
Particularly significant at this time was the award to the President of the Roman Jewish Community, Victor Fadlun, who was greeted with a long round of applause.
Everyone was amazed by Vanni Oddera – freestyle motocross rider – who has made mototherapy an essential path for children and cancer patients. “With him, we feel the wind in our faces even here,” commented a young patient hospitalized in the pediatric oncology ward.
Also particularly moving was the presence of many young people orphaned by women killed by their husbands. Giving them a voice was ambassador Carmine Ammirati, himself a victim and author of an autobiographical book. It was they who presented awards to associations and supporters such as Giada Albanese, President of Love Made in Italy, MEP Marco Campomenosi, and the Parioli Clinic. Essential to the success of the event was the sponsorship of the Lazio Region, FGCI, and CONI; the support of partners Feminin Pluriel Italia, Club int. Inner wheel Roma, Associazione Gaia, and sponsors Molino, Relais Fontana di Trevi, Don Nino, DLC forniture, Helpet, ASD Poggio Mirteto Calcio, Fondo Assicurmed.

The audience continues a tradition begun in 1964, when Paul VI called for the renewal of the friendship between the Church and artists. "The Holy Father's intention is to celebrate the work and life of artists, highlighting their contribution to building a sense of shared humanity and promoting common values," reads a note from the Dicastery for Culture and Education.
Impossible to list them all, among painters, sculptors, architects, writers, musicians, directors, and actors: from Anselm Kiefer, Jean Nouvel, Anish Kapoor, Andres Serrano, Thomas Saraceno, Mario Botta, Rem Koolhaas, Joana Vasconcelos, Doris Salcedo to Ken Loach to Mario Ceroli, Giuseppe Penone, Fabrizio Plessi, Michele De Lucchi, Mimmo Paladino, Raul Gabriel, Nicola Samorì, Andrea Mastrovito, Stefano Arienti... and then Caetano Veloso, Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt, Valerie Perrin, Amelie Nothomb, Colum McCann, Ferzan Ozpetek, Abel Ferrara, Jhumpa Lahiri, Javier Cercas, Nicolò Ammaniti, Roberto Andò, Alessandro Baricco, Marco Bellocchio, Gianrico Carofiglio, Paolo Cognetti, Simone Cristicchi, Alessandro Zaccuri, Giuseppe Lupo, Luca Doninelli, Ludovico Einaudi, Giovanni Sollima, Mariangela Gualtieri, Alessandro Haber, Emilio Isgrò, Nicola Lagioia, Vivian Lamarque, Luciano Ligabue, Mario Martone, Arnoldo Mondadori, Michela Murgia, Mogol, Alice Rohrwacher, Sergio Rubini, Roberto Saviano, Igiaba Scego, Susanna Tamaro, Sandro Veronesi and many others.
The initiative confirms the role of the Dicastery for Culture and Education as a promoter of relations between the Holy See and the world of culture. Supporting the initiative are many local excellences involved by the association LOVE MADE IN ITALY, represented by its President Giada Albanese, aimed at promoting them in Italy and around the world.
Among the companies that wanted to celebrate the initiative by offering a special breakfast immediately after the Pope's private audience in the Sistine Chapel was the Neapolitan pastry shop POPPELLA, which filled over 400 of their renowned FIOCCHI DI NEVE, delicate brioche bites filled with cream and fresh ricotta.
The two hundred artists toasted the meeting with the highest Vatican authorities with sparkling wine offered by the Tuscan winery IL PALAGIO 1530 of Trudy Styler and Sting. Mauro SOLINAS, owner of SMERALDINA water, was keen to honor the event with the crystalline water of Sardinia, and finally, the floral arrangements were curated by MARIA LUISA ROCCHI, the most sought-after floral designer in Rome and Italy.

Charity Event by Unicef Italy
With the participation of Love Made in Italy.
Love Made in Italy is pleased to have been the special supplier for the charity evening in support of the emergency in Ukraine. The evening was conceived and presented by social entrepreneur Claudia Conte, with the participation of Carmela Pace, President of Unicef Italy. There were several distinguished guests, including actors, singers, and show business personalities who attended on June 8th at the Teatro Centrale in Rome.
The evening was a fundraising event to allocate funds to families affected by the conflict. The goal is to provide essential aid to families most in need. An event that embodies the spirit of solidarity, love, and hospitality, also of Love Made in Italy.
The event featured the participation of various personalities and extraordinary performances. Two Ukrainian girls, who managed to escape the horrors of war, Diana and Daniella, aged 9 and 7, played traditional melodies on the piano. The performance by the violinist couple Ksenia Milas and Oleksandr Semchuk, of Russian and Ukrainian nationality respectively, brought harmony and a message of peace and solidarity.
Among the guests in the audience was Leo Gassman, who sang his latest single, La mia libertà. Annalisa Minetti performed True Color, a clear dedication to the evening and the colors of peace. Other guests included: Max Giusti, Pino Calabrese, Cinzia Leone, Paolo Conticini, Maite Bulgari, and many others.
Love Made in Italy was proud to be part of the event and the Unicef project for Ukraine. How do Italians love? Like this, with generosity, altruism, a desire to work and to do good for a better tomorrow for us and especially for those who, at this moment, see a future undermined by uncertainty, war, and pain.

Last May 31, at the Casa del Cinema in Rome inside Villa Borghese, the YOU, Youth for Onu United project was presented, part of the UN 2030 agenda for sustainable development. The program focuses on young people and future generations, providing them with the tools and knowledge needed to create a better, more inclusive tomorrow, based on respect for others, respect for the environment and its properties, also through the use of applied technologies. A future, inclusive and sustainable, guided by the generations of tomorrow. The entire project is divided into 17 goals and each objective is independent from the others, but together they form the totality and completeness of the program.
Love Made in Italy is an integral part of the project and represents Italy and Italian identity. Testimonial and ambassador of goal number 17, which concerns cooperation and partnerships for the goals. Ambassador of culture, promotion, and awareness for cooperation and inclusion. Spreading culture as quality education, but above all spreading culture as Italian identity, a unique and very special inclination. Love Made in Italy wants to give value to traditions and the cultural heritage of mankind. Giada Albanese, president and founder of the association, was awarded for her commitment and dedication to the program. Love Made in Italy also served as a bridge for the creation of a short film designed to amplify the voice and echo of the project with the special collaboration of Leo Gassman. “Love Made in Italy wants to send a message, that is: how Italians love. Italians love fashion, cinema, solidarity, and we love better. – I would like to raise the Italian flag high both in the world and among the very young because they must not lose our cultural heritage – it is important that young people carry forward everything that has allowed us to be number one in the world, and also number one in heart.”
Giada Albanese.

On the occasion of World Down Syndrome Day, Love Made in Italy took action to support the Italian Down Syndrome Association of Rome through a targeted partnership with Rome's most famous biscuit factory, Gentilini. We created a promotional campaign aimed at a small fundraising effort to support the Roman association. Gentilini granted us over 4,000 packs of biscuits to help the association.
